I love the little crocus flower.

Last Wednesday I spotted the first crocus flowers, a group of six small, pretty golden yellow blossoms. I showed them to my wife and commented that we will have a snow soon. Sure enough, three inches of snow fell on Friday.

It happens year after year. The crocus start blooming a few days before we have a nice snow.

What do the brave, optimistic crocus plants know? What can we learn from them?

I think they know the snow will come, that the hard times will come. They also know that the snow will melt in a few days, just as the hard times will eventually give way to better.

Sure enough, by Saturday evening the snow had melted.
